Cisco IE-3100-8P2C-E is part of the Cisco Catalyst IE3100 Rugged Series, built specifically for industrial Ethernet deployments where durability, reliability, and continuous operation are critical. It provides 8 × 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ ports for powering devices such as IP cameras, sensors, wireless access points, and industrial controllers, along with 2 × Gigabit combo uplink ports (RJ45/SFP) for flexible network aggregation.

The switch supports a total PoE budget up to around 240W depending on power input configuration, making it suitable for powering multiple field devices in harsh environments. It is designed to operate in extreme conditions, including wide temperature ranges and industrial-grade electrical environments, and can be mounted on DIN rails for easy installation in control cabinets.

It runs Cisco IOS XE software, enabling advanced Layer 2 features like VLANs, QoS, redundancy protocols, and industrial automation support. It is commonly used in factory automation, smart cities, oil & gas, transportation systems, and other mission-critical IoT environments where standard enterprise switches cannot operate reliably.
